Both the petal hood and the rubber hood works well and seem to be well made. I had bought these to replace my original lens hood which had fallen off and gotten lost during use. The petal hood screws on and is more secure when mounted. However, it cannot be reverse mounted and be stored with the lens and must be stored separately. The rubber hood screws on and can be collapsed when not in use. However, the collapsed diameter is much larger than the lens, and requires quite an adjustment to the camera bag in order to accommodate it. So, I also store it separately.
